Well, it’s been a very busy year so far. Following the release of ‘No Man’s An Island’ in January, I immediately began working on some new tunes with a view to release some time in 2024.Originally, I was considering putting out a download only EP but things progressed much more rapidly than expected and I ended up with too many songs for that format so I decided to plough right on with a full album. I have now completed work on what will be the second GU album of 2023 and it will be the first time I’ve ever released two brand new albums in the same year. Sharing vocals with me for this project is singer/songwriter Jane Wrangham and she’s even contributed one of her own compositions ‘Salt In My Eyes’. Allan Crockford (Galileo 7, Prisoners, Prime Movers etc) plays bass and guitar on a couple of tracks too. The album has a very ‘cinematic’ feel to it in places with a few orchestral arrangements and one of the tracks is a 9 minute ‘suite’. That said, there are still one or two songs that cover more familiar GU ground. All mixing and mastering is now complete and, as ever, Darryl Hartley will be creating the artwork. I haven’t set a release date yet but it will be out later this year. I’ll keep you posted!
